The OKC Thunder are officially set to square off against the Spurs in the 2026 Western Conference Finals, and, by the looks of it, they'll have Jalen Williams back to full strength right from the get-go.

In a video recently posted to his personal YouTube channel, the All-Star touched on his latest battle with a hamstring strain, noting that Oklahoma City's continued dominance with him sidelined has meant he hasn't had to "rush back" to the floor before he's completely ready.

In fact, as a result of their consecutive series sweeps over the Suns and Lakers, respectively, the Thunder have allotted him "extra days now than from what was originally planned" upon initially sustaining his injury, and revealed that "I'm about to go into another series healthy" as a result.

Williams hasn't suited up for in-game action since Game 2 of the quarterfinals, where, upon tweaking his left hammy mid-way through the third period, he had already registered a ridiculous log-line of 19 points and four assists while shooting 63.6 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from deep.

In his video, J-Dub went as far as to say "I think I was going to have 40" in said game, which would have marked his first 40-plus postseason performance since Game 5 of the 2025 NBA Finals.

Hopefully he can tap back into this kind of production in their upcoming matchup against the Spurs.

Considering the Thunder went just 1-4 against San Antonio in the regular season, they certainly could use for such a showing or two in order to better their chances of reaching their second straight title round.

Thunder might want to consider taking things slow with Jalen Williams

Even with roughly a month of rest under his belt, along with the fact that J-Dub himself is confident that he'll be fully healthy for Game 1, the Thunder may still want to take things slow while reintroducing their cornerstone forward to the rotation.

All season long, Williams has been riddled with injuries.

Between multiple flare-ups of a nagging right hamstring strain and his extended rehab from offseason wrist surgery, Williams missed a combined 49 games due to his health-related ailments.

The aim moving forward toward their hopeful title repeat should be to avoid any more run-ins with the injury bug. As superstar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put it earlier this postseason, in order "to reach the mountaintop," they'll need Williams healthy and available.

With this in mind, perhaps slowing their roll and refraining from thrusting him back into his normal role in the scheme right away is the best course of action to take.

Whether that's merely holding him to a minutes restriction or going more experimental by continuing on with their Williams-less starting five with Ajay Mitchell in his place and having him come off the bench to start the series, the priority for this Thunder team is to keep their star wing healthy for the long haul.

It'll be exciting to see how, exactly, they look to accomplish such a goal.
