Please note there are some videos and tweets in this section which include NSFW language. They are included to present the complete picture.

The initial video tweet which blew up on social media was of Westbrook yelling at a fan and his wife. Without context, It appears to be extremely inappropriate as he was threatening both the man and his wife. Again, as a caution, there is language in this video and tweet.

Asked what was said, Westbrook responded that the man said: “get down on your knees, like you’re used to doing“. And, the man’s wife repeated it to Westbrook right after her husband did. Westbrook felt it was racist and inappropriate.

Both Raymond Felton and Patrick Patterson verified these statements were coming from the man and his wife. Further, Felton said a security guard was standing right there during the exchange and did nothing to stop it or warn the fans.

Patterson also tweeted about the incident and also confirmed what the man and his wife said to Westbrook.

As noted the five fans involved were handed warnings but allowed to stay at the game and return to their seats. After the game the Jazz posted this statement:
